What kind of remote cable does a KS seat post use?   

A) KS droppers utilize a standard 5mm cable housing and 1mm inner cable (this is the same used for derailleurs).  KS posts are also compatible with the ultralight 4mm housing and .8mm cable systems from companies such and Jagwire. 

COMPATIBILITY

What remotes work with which seat posts? 

A) All KS remotes are compatible with all KS droppers.  In addition, KS droppers and remotes are generally cross compatible with other manufacturers, provided they are based on a 10mm cable pull.

 

Can I use a non KS remote on a KS seat post? 

A) For best performance, we would recommend using all KS branded product, you can use other brands remotes as long as they operate with a 10mm cable pull. 

 

Can I use a KS remote with a non KS seat post?   

A) For best performance, we would recommend using all KS branded product, you can use other brands droppers with a KS remote as long as they operate with a 10mm cable pull. 

Can I use a shim on my KS post? 

It is acceptable to use a shim on a KS dropper, and KS recommends a minimum of 100mm shim length.  BUT… you will need to check with your frame manufacturer to ensure the structure of your bike’s seat tube is compatible with a shim.  Failure to do so could cause damage to the frame or possible bodily injury to the rider.  

WARRANTY SUPPORT

What is the warranty on KS products?

A) All KS branded complete products offer a 2 year warranty.  Individual service cartridges carry a 1 year warranty (parts only)

A) Your first step would be to contact the dealer whom you purchased the post from.
